The Rule of Law Through a Jewish Lens
Georgia Lawyers for the Rule of Law and Congregation Mickve Israel in Savannah invite the public to hear Jill Steinberg, former U.S. Attorney for the Southern District of Georgia, on Saturday, June 6, at the Monterey Square synagogue in Savannah. Ms. Steinberg will speak on “The Rule of Law Through a Jewish Lens.” She will focus on defining the rule of law, concepts behind it, and its importance in our everyday lives. She will address the connections among rule of law concepts, protections for minorities, Judaism, and Jewish history.
Appointed US Attorney based in Savannah by then-President Joe Biden in 2023, Ms. Steinberg served for two years as the federal government’s top prosecutor and legal officer fn South Georgia. A graduate of the University of Georgia, Ms. Steinberg earned her law degree at Duke University.
The June 6 luncheon program will begin at 12:15 in Mickve Israel’s Mordecai Sheftall Social Hall following the Sabbath service, which begins at 11 in the sanctuary. We welcome the public to the service as well as the luncheon (buffet free of charge). People may attend either or both.
Registration for the luncheon is required. If you have any questions please contact Ann Woolner at (404) 405-0001 or email us at info@georgialawyersfortheruleoflaw.org.
